Water, Water, Everywhere - The Finale!

The closing event of 2 years of Uncover / Discover

A central shot of the exhibition - showing a mosaic of drawings in the shape of a river, a bridge crossing over, and a series of silk-sheets depicting aquatic environments. The ceiling takes up the top third of the picture - and is a stark contrast of intersecting straight lines in a lattice shape, compared with the gentle curvature of the silk sheets, river and bridge below

Our final event – Water Water Everywhere – took over the ground floor of the former Ikea building in the centre of Coventry. Over a 10-day installation we shared the young people’s work with 522 audience members across 26 events for both schools and the public.

Audiences had the opportunity to explore our underwater world created using all the young people’s artwork and animations created across the programme, as well as being pirates on our ship, crossing the bridge over the river and dancing with the frogs! All 3 of our River City Detectives films were also shared in our secret screening area and the whole experience was underscored by music created by young people too.

A close of up of a second selection of sea creatures - this time against a green backdrop. 8 starfish of different colours are arranged in a pyramid shape at the back, as if they're climbing upwards

Our VIP event, attended by over 40 people, saw live performances from Hereward College’s music and performing arts students. We also hosted a ‘performance day’ so young people could share the amazing drama skills they developed through Open Theatre sessions, with each other.

A walk-through experience of the event is available here including the 3 films, alongside images of this spectacular final event!
