Jack's Frogs
Take a Leap!

Jack is a young artist with a learning disability that has been working with Imagineer for a number of years, through the company’s young people’s training project. Over the years, Jack has developed as an artist and last year created the concept and design for Jack’s Frogs, in collaboration with Open Theatre.
Jack’s Frogs was inspired by the River Sherbourne – Coventry’s river which was uncovered in 2021. Jack imagined that when it is uncovered, hundreds of frogs would jump out and hide all around the city.
Just like the frog’s life cycle – Jack’s Frogs happened in several stages!
Dancing Frogs – an amazing moving art installation showing the frog cycle, all using Jack’s original frog design. This artwork featured was shown as part of Coventry Show Windows as well as featuring in the final Water Water Everywhere event.
Leaping Frogs – a Research and Development phase of this strand has taken place to take Jack’s frog design into a large-scale sculpture for the side of the Daimler building, making it a permanent piece of artwork for Coventry. We really hope this will soon become a reality…watch this space! A digital version of this piece was also created for Ludic Rooms Random String Festival in November 2021
Frog Cycle & Hidden Frogs – Jack’s amazing artwork about the life-cycle of a frog inspired his dancing frogs work and was presented in his own exhibition of work at Daimler Powerhouse. His work was also included in a frog trail along the canal as part of City of Culture’s Green Future programme.
