What is Stuff and Nonsense?
‘Stuff and Nonsense’ is a work-in-progress sharing of new work created from a week of exploration, creativity, and nonsense!
The Ashton Brothers are a renowned and respected Dutch theatre company with a unique style. Inspired by old circus and variety acts, they combine modern and traditional music, comedy, acrobatics, and slapstick which have made them household names in The Netherlands, and now they’re here in Brum!
Over a week-long residency from 21st – 25th March ’22, the Ashton Brothers will be working with Open Theatre Company emerging artists and practitioners to share their unique skills and creatively collaborate.
At the end of the week, there will be a unique opportunity to see two theatrical worlds come together for one night only!
Combining the Ashton Brothers’ unique style and Open Theatre Company’s non-verbal physical theatre approach, both companies will create a new work-in-progress to be shared with an invited audience.
We can’t say what this new work will be, but we can guarantee one thing… it will be full of a lot of stuff and even more nonsense.
