Current Opportunities

Join our Summer Sessions

Open Theatre are very excited to be working with a range of partners across Birmingham, Sandwell and Coventry this Summer!

We will be exploring a sensory box filled with materials inspired by the characters and themes of Wind in the Willows and the sessions will be accessible for all young people with learning disabilities.

Whatever we discover across these workshops will inform the content of our new immersive performance which is premiering at The Crescent Theatre in November 2024 before touring to schools and community venues.

We are interested in exploring our connection to nature, magical environments and the possibilities of storytelling when we don’t use any words! The show will be family-friendly and with previous immersive performances we have welcomed a wide range of ages and audience members.

We’re looking for participants of various ages to join us on the following dates:

  • 6th – 8th August 2024 (10am – 2pm) at Daimler Powerhouse, Unit 4 Sandy Lane Business Park, Sandy Lane, Coventry, CV1 4DQ. For participants aged 16+.
  • 12th – 14th August 2024 (10am – 2pm) at Thimblemill Library, Thimblemill Rd, Birmingham B67 5RJ. For participants aged 7 – 11.
  • 20th – 22nd August 2024, (10am – 2pm) at RoguePlay, West Midlands Circus & Creation Centre, Edgbaston Quaker Meeting House, 10 St. James Road, Birmingham B15 1JP. For participants aged 12 – 16.

All workshops are FREE to attend.

Join Our Board!

We’re looking for committed and enthusiastic trustees to join our Board. Open Theatre trustees will be part of an organisation that strives to drive sector and societal change, placing the creativity of YPWLD at the heart of bringing people, organisations and partners together. We are focused on how we can diversify leadership and create equity and inclusion in today’s society.

We encourage trustees to offer support to the company in particular areas of expertise, but also welcome the other numerous ways in which people’s own individual skills and experiences can inform the work that we do.
